　　Assent

　　official agreement to or approval of something 同意，贊成

　　1. She is by common assent, the best person for the job.

　　大家一致同意，她是最適合這份工作的人。

　　2. There were murmurs of both assent and dissent from the crowd.

　　人群議論紛紛，贊成和反對(duì)的都有。

　　3. I won’t give my assent to her plan.

　　我不會(huì)同意她的計(jì)劃。

　　As an intransitive verb, it means “to agree to a request, an idea or a suggestion” assent作不及物動(dòng)詞，意為”同意，贊成，認(rèn)可”

　　1. Nobody would assent to the terms they proposed.

　　誰(shuí)也不會(huì)同意他們所提出的條件。

　　2. I can never assent to such a request.

　　我決不會(huì)同意這種要求。

　　3. The teacher will never assent to our playing football in the street.

　　教師決不會(huì)同意我們?cè)诮稚咸咦闱颉?/div>

　　Accent

　　a way of pronouncing the words of a language that shows which country, area or social class a person comes from 口音，腔調(diào)

　　1. She speaks English with a Chinese accent.

　　她說(shuō)英語(yǔ)帶有漢語(yǔ)口音。

　　2. She tried to reproduce his accent.

　　她試圖模仿他的口音。

　　3. He has a strong American accent.

　　他有很重的美國(guó)口音。

　　【注意】

　　assent可以用作名詞，也可用作動(dòng)詞，意為”同意，贊成”。常與介詞to搭配使用。

　　(1)I fully assent to your plan. √

　　(2)I fully assent your plan. ×
