比較狀語從句的基礎知識
狀語從句指句子用作狀語時，起副詞作用的句子。比較狀語從句是其中的一種，主要運用于形容詞和副詞的原級、比較級及最高級的句子之中。
原級：as…as(和……一樣)，not so(as)…as …(和不一樣);
比較級：more…than(更);
最高級：The most…in/of， the + 形容詞+est…of/in。
常用引導詞：as(同級比較)，than(不同程度的比較);特殊引導詞：the more … the more … ; no … more than;not A so much as B。
比較狀語從句的用法
A.as...as, the same as
用于同等程度級的比較。否定句用not soas ?as, not the same ?s。
Our country is as big as the whole of Europe.
我們的國同整個歐洲一樣大。
The result was not asso good as I had expected.
結果不如我預料的那么好。
She works in the same building as my sister.
她和我的妹妹在同一大樓上班。
B.than
than表示不同程度級的比較
It rains mor often in Shanghai than in Beijing.
上海下的雨比北京的多。
He is two inches taller than his father.
= He is taller than his father by two inches.
他比他爸爸高兩英寸。
注意：
在比較從句中通常把和主句重復的部分省掉，如果把省略部分補上，而顯得累贅或不合乎習慣。
Lily isn't so clever a girl as Lucy is.
莉莉是一個不如露西那樣聰明的女孩。(如說成：Lily isn't so clever a girl as Lucy is clever 顯得累贅)
The child sang as sweetly as a nightingale.
這孩子歌唱得同夜鶯般婉轉。
C.the more..., the more...
這是表示比例的比較，意思是越……就越……。第一個the more 也可以看成是一個條件。
The more you read, the better you understand.
你看的書越多，你懂得就越多。(= If you read more, you will understand better.)
The busier he is, the happier he feels.
他越忙越開心。
The more difficult the questions are, the less likely I am to be able to answer them.
問題越困難，我就越可能回答。

His father is double twice his age.

His father is twice double as old as he (is).
