過去進行時的基本結構：was/weredoing
它表示過去某一時刻或過去一段時間內正在進行的動作。常考的時間狀語有then,at that time, this time yesterday, at ten yesterday等詞連用。
它常用在含有when或while引導的時間狀語從句中。
—Whatwere you doing at nine last night? 昨天晚上九點你正在干什么?
—Iwas doing my homework at that time. 那時我正在做作業。
Mybrother was playing computer games when I came in. 當我進來時，我的弟弟正在玩電腦游戲。
